Happy July, marblelous babes!
I can’t believe it’s already July – seems like it was just yesterday that Vic was getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him! It’s been a hot minute since our last wedding update, and that’s because I’ve been on full wedding planning mode trying to get literally alllllll the details of our wedding finalized so that I don’t freak out!
I know, I know.. our wedding isn’t until next February, but the obsessive planner freak in me just can’t handle not having the important details all figured out!
But now that we officially have a wedding venue, wedding photographer, and even decided on the dinner menu, it’s time to get back to living in the present and enjoying being engaged. Which means, taking our engagement photos, yay!
Typically, I know couples usually dress more casual and laidback for their engagement shoot, but when have I EVER been known to do things “typically”? I knew I wanted to go all out for our engagement shoot and still looked like a bride to be, so when I saw this gorrrrgeous tiered ruffle dress from David’s Bridal, I immediately knew it was the one!
I immediately fell in love with the details of this dress – the tiered, flowy ruffles and the side slit are seriously to die for and exuded just the right amount of boho flair that I was looking for in an engagement dress! I also love that the maxi length and cream color made me feel just like a bride to be.
If you’re more of a boho or casual bride, this could totally be your wedding dress, too! Especially if you’re planning on eloping or doing a courthouse or Vegas wedding. And at only $329, it’s at such a great price point compared to all the other wedding dresses out there.
I got my usual dress size but wish I had sized up to accommodate the more figure-hugging silhouette since I’ve always been a little insecure about showing off my curves (which is something I’ve been trying to work on lately!). But I do love that this dress also comes in plus sizes (sizes 0 – 22!).
For my shoes, I chose this beautiful asymmetrical strap slingback heels from David’s Bridal. I immediately fell in love with the floral appliqué details (no surprise there since I’m ALL about floral appliqués!) that are accentuated by beautiful little pearls in the center of each flower. And can we talk about the unique transparent strap? SO stunning and gives you a “barely there” look!
I love how these beauties can also double as your “something blue” for your wedding since the soles of these stiletto heels are a gorgeous tiffany blue color. You also can’t beat the price point at only $110!
To keep with the touch of boho theme I was trying to achieve, I chose this celestial star headband from David’s Bridal to complete my whole engagement look. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a headband quite like this beauty – the cluster of shimmering stars immediately whisked me to a galaxy far, far away! It’s only $50 and David’s Bridal is currently having a Buy One, Get One 50% Off Hair Accessories & Veils sale!
I absolutely loved how the dress, shoes, and headband from David’s Bridal paired together for our engagement session, especially against this dreamy location filled with wildflowers and greenery!
