I STILL can’t believe that our wedding is officially NEXT MONTH! It’s all starting to feel SO surreal and I’m equally excited AND nervous all at the same time! 🙈
As you all probably already know, Vic and I are having a beach destination wedding in Phuket, Thailand. While I already said yes to the dress, I’m now on the hunt for the perfect little white dress to wear for our pre-wedding beach shoot with our wedding photographer happening the day before our wedding. We’ve actually never met our wedding photographer before – she’ll be flying in from Paris for our wedding and meeting with us the day before our wedding to get to know us as well as do a fun little pre-wedding beach couple shoot with us.
So naturally, I’m now on the hunt for the perfect dress for this occasion and immediately thought of David’s Bridal since they’re known for offering AMAZING dresses at the absolute best prices. Not only that, but they actually offer MORE than just wedding dresses. Besides offering bridesmaid dresses in 50 gorgeous (and totally exclusive) colors to match your wedding color scheme, they also offer dresses for just about any special occasion – cocktail dresses, prom dresses, homecoming dresses, wedding guest dresses, flower girl dresses, mother of the bride or groom dresses… you name it, they have it!
They even have the perfect accessories to complete your whole look from head to toe, be it a bridal look (like veils, hair accessories, and belts) or a special occasion look (like shoes, handbags, and jewelry).
Another reason I chose David’s Bridal is because they offer sizes 0 through 30 (YAY for being size inclusive!! 🙌🏻) in store so you can actually try dresses in YOUR OWN SIZE. I don’t know about you, but that’s a huge deal for me as sometimes it can be hard to imagine how a dress might look on you in a sample size with all the makeshift clips and pins all over the dress.
After I made my appointment at David’s Bridal, I received an email to complete a Style Profile questionnaire which allowed me to share my vision and specify exactly what I’m looking for in a dress. I was even given the option of adding any favorites I came across online on the David’s Bridal website to my Style Profile or even linking my Pinterest wedding mood board. I LOVE this because this gave my stylist the opportunity to provide a more personalized shopping experience.
I actually went into my appointment thinking I wanted a non-white, COLORED dress for my pre-wedding beach shoot. So my stylist and I went through the store and pulled a couple different dresses in a variety of colors for me to try on. The first one I tried was this dress with the most darling flutter sleeves. I absolutely loved how the dress flowed which was perfect for the beach.
I also tried this blue dress with the most intricate lace bodice and illusion neckline and this red dress with lace cap sleeves and a keyhole back.
But it wasn’t until my stylist pulled a couple of little white dresses instead did I start to swoon and fall in love! I mean, what can I say? I LOVE a good little white dress. Plus, you’re only a bride once in a lifetime, so I should definitely be wearing alllllll the white while I still can.
I will preface this to say that these most certainly are wedding dresses and can be worn for destination weddings or an elopement since they’re SO lightweight but still give you that full bridal look and feel. I just consider these two as a little white dress (for myself) since my wedding dress is so much more bigger and pouffier in comparison to these.
I immediately fell head over heels over this eyelash lace little white dress with the most stunning open back. When I was wedding dress shopping, I kept going back and forth between a ballgown or a mermaid silhouette. Since I ended up saying yes to a ballgown, this little white dress was absolutely PERFECT for our pre-wedding shoot since it still gives me the opportunity to wear a mermaid dress! A total win-win! 🙌🏻
The low back is seriously SO stunning and I just adore the delicate lace train that sweeps and trails behind. It’s also seriously so lightweight which is perfect for Thailand’s humid weather.
My stylist also pulled this little white dress with a plunging illusion deep-v neckline. I love the luxe material and the A-line silhouette as well. Also, this little white dress actually has POCKETS!!!! Does anyone else get super excited over pockets but don’t actually ever use them? 🙈
I just love the simplicity of this little white dress and the fact that it has a sweep train as well. My stylist decided to have a little fun and braided my hair, put in this gorgeous bridal hair vine in, and sealed this whole look with a gorgeous sparkly fingertip veil. I definitely felt like a bride and soaked up every single minute of it!
