Happy FriYAY!! This season has us baring it all with cold-shoulders, slouchy shoulders, and my ultimate favorite – off the shoulders. Many of us are no strangers to the exposed shoulder trend – I, myself, have quite a fair share of them in my closet; but it wasn’t until this season that we really saw the exposed shoulder trend hit the streets, stores, and runways with such a celebrated force.
I, for one, adore the off the shoulder silhouette because it gives me the option of showing off just the right amount of skin without feeling uncomfortable. I get to playfully flaunt off my shoulders while giving off a subtle peekaboo effect without being too revealing. Who said in order to be sexy you have to expose your décolletage? This trend allows you to be conservative AND keep them guessing!
I love how off the shoulders have just a hint of bohemian vibe but yet at the same time exudes a romantic and feminine feel to it. They are great spring and summer staples because it goes so well with denim cutoffs, skinnies, maxi skirts, and printed shorts. They are so effortlessly versatile and transition great from a day to night look with just the addition of a mere few accessories to give it that wow factor!
It is getting hotter by the day in Long Beach so I paired my lilac bell sleeved off the shoulder top with a pair of floral printed shorts for a day out. I also whipped out my favorite pair of lace-up flats in the most darling color to go along with it. I apologize that most of the items from my outfit are from my recent trip to Asia but I linked very similar items above. What is your favorite summer staple? Off the shoulders and lace-up sandals are definitely my favorite staples this summer!
