Denim Overall Dress: Heavenly Couture Boutique (similar here, here, here, here and here) // Bralette: Aerie // Statement Necklace: Forever 21 (Mine is old but this one by BaubleBar is gorgeous!) // Pineapple Bag: ASOS // Shoes: Vans
In case you haven’t heard, one of my favorite fashion trends from childhood has made a huge comeback this year. That’s right, I am talking about the overalls trend. Call it what you want – overalls, dungarees, pinafores – I was so stocked when I saw these cute beauties hit the stores. Gone are the days where I squeal in delight whenever my precious nieces spot a cute pair of overalls and wish I was still a little girl so I could still indulge in this throwback trend. Now I get to own a pair (or five) myself. I love seeing how the overalls trend has evolved to be significantly more chic and feminine compared to their tomboyish predecessors. Goodbye, farmer girl; Hello, fashionista. Ha!
When I saw this denim overall dress at my local boutique, I knew I had to have it. It has just the right amount of distressing on it and it has the cutest ruffles to give it the perfect girly effect. I paired it with a white Aerie bralette to ensure that the denim overall dress would stand out. Believe it or not, this is actually my first time owning and wearing a pair of Vans (I am a Converse kinda girl). My boyfriend, however, does not share my enthusiasm for chucks. He has such an extensive (and very impressive, I might add) collection of Vans and has repeatedly tried to get me on board the Vans ship. I finally caved in when we saw the cutest pair of light blue Vans with studs at the mall and he excitedly bought it for me. I must admit that you might just find me at the Vans store again. This time maybe for a pair of pastel yellow ones!
