Happy Saturday, marblelous babes! Can you believe that it is almost September?! I am SO excited for pumpkin spice season!!
I don’t know about you, but I am so glad that I live in an era where we have a greater conscious awareness about consumer products. Gone are the days where we run to our local drugstore or grocery store and grab the cheapest product we lay our eyes on without giving it much thought. These days, however, we spend time reading the labels and researching the ingredients found in products before making a purchase.
As someone with very sensitive skin, I spend quite a fair share of my time researching potentially dangerous skin care ingredients and chemicals. If you’re like me and concerned about the potentially toxic ingredients found in skin care products on the market today, then you will be as happy as I am about this California-based skin care brand called BeautyCounter.
BeautyCounter is a skin care brand that prides itself on delivering a safer skin care line into the hands of everyone. In fact, they go through a very rigorous ingredient screening process and in turn, they have banned over 1,500 toxic ingredients from their product lines. BeautyCounter is very transparent about the ingredients found in their products – They have an Ingredient Glossary and a Never List on their website.
After much deliberation, I decided to try out their Purifying Charcoal Mask and Lengthening Mascara.
I have heard how amazing charcoal is for clearing up pores, blackheads, and a range of skin impurities. While applying the charcoal mask, I immediately noticed that it gives an instant cooling effect, which I love. It definitely left my face feeling as smooth as a baby’s bottom. My face also felt significantly tighter like it went through a deep cleanse and exfoliation in that short span of ten minutes.
The lengthening mascara is AMAZING. Unlike many other mascaras out there, this one is very buildable without leaving my lashes all clumpy. And let me tell you, this mascara lengthens, all right. As someone with almost non-existent eyelashes, I can definitely attest to the effectiveness of the lengthening aspect of this mascara. To top it off, this mascara also contains organic oils and shea butter to condition lashes.
