Stripe Dress (c/o): The Mint Julep Boutique // Watch: Daniel Wellington // Colorblock Purse: Bangkok, Thailand (I found some really cute colorblock purses here, here, and here) // Statement Necklace: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (This semi-precious stone necklace is darling!) // Sandals: Cotton On // Studded Double Finger Ring: Forever 21 (This is old but I love this, this and this marble one) // Turquoise Stone Midi Ring: Forever 21 (I love this midi ring set)
With sizzling summer temperatures approaching, I have an urge to incorporate a little preppy sailor vibe into my wardrobe; however, I do not want to take the maritime styling quite so literally with its sailor hats, sailor collars, anchor prints, and crisp yet overly contrasted pinstripes. So when I saw this beautiful stripe dress from The Mint Julep Boutique, I immediately fell in love. This dress has a slight nautical twist with the addition of some accent colors to the usual navy and white stripes, making this dress so unique.
While a lot of people I know tend to stay away from horizontal stripes for fear that it will make them appear wider, horizontal stripes make a great canvas for bold tailoring when worn the right way. This dress is a hundred percent cotton, which means that it is perfect for the hot California weather that is bound to hit any minute now.
I love how well my Daniel Wellington watch pairs with this dress, too! My purse and statement necklace were pieces I managed to get my hands on from my recent trip to Asia last month, but I have linked similar items which I am currently crushing over.
